Some shots from The Ashura Procession on Sunday 8th Sept in which Shia Muslims take part in a march, starting in Platt Fields then down “Curry Mile”, to mourn the death of the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. The participants become emotional and some men beat their chests. Traditionally a lot more blood would be seen in this ceremony.
