CURRY MILE PROJECT
‘Documenting everyday life in The Curry Mile’
We are a small group of photographers and artists working with the local community group, Ethnic Health Forum, to document and record the everyday life of the vibrant community of Rusholme.
The Curry Mile not only has national and international fame as a restaurant and leisure hub; it is also home to a great many businesses, shops and community groups with residents of diverse ethnic origins. Rusholme is a multi faith community where Churches, Mosques and Temples are part and parcel of everyday life.
The project aims to capture portraits, stories and social events via mixed media (photography, video, sketches and recordings).
Part of our aim is to secure funding for an exhibition and a permanent public archive as a lasting legacy of an ever changing, an evolving community for all to share.
If you would like to help in this project and are part of the Rusholme community then we would like to talk to you, your family and friends, take some photographs and hear your stories. Please contact us: info@currymileproject.com
