Dash Cam Video along Curry Mile, Rusholme with selected stills, taken on the 12th May just after sunset which officially ends Ramadan and starts the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration in the Islamic calendar. The road barriers that were erected to help maintain social distancing, have been removed. Several restaurants and take-a-ways have either been replaced with other eating premises or re-decorated.
The Curry Mile Project aims to document everyday life along this stretch of Wilmslow Road in Rusholme. We also want to show how economic and cultural changes are taking place with the goal of a continuing archive of this multicultural community hub of Manchester. This dash cam video was videoed on Super Saturday Afternoon, first day of easing of Covid – 19 lockdown rules 4th July 2020.
