Curry Mile to Shisha Mile – The Book -Available July 2022

Michael Baker and Phil Portus have been working on a documentary photography project since 2016, along “Curry Mile” in Rusholme. Initially to have an exhibition at the Central Ref Library in Manchester, but that was cancelled because of covid. We then decided to make a book of our photos and interviews, which is finally at the printers. ‘Curry Mile to Shisha Mile’ records the cultural shift and perception of Wilmslow Road being predominantly curry restaurants and pubs, to a now more diverse and Arabic influenced neighbourhood. It will be available to purchase  in early July 2022. £20  +P&P  ( if required)
